Health Benefits of Meditating

I have been freelance writing for a women's non-profit organization called The Barbara E. Giordano Women's Health Education. Our goals are the same, to teach others to live a happy, healthy, natural life. After a conversation on this month's topic it was decided that the focus would be on meditation.

As I researched the many health benefits of meditation I was like wow!!! Meditation can do all that for you in just 20 minutes a day? The benefits are many and many of which are connected to mental health, but there are also physical benefits as well. Children can also benefit from meditation in a variety of ways including better focus while doing school work.

Here is an excerpt from the article I wrote, to read the rest please click the link.

20 Minutes a Day of Mediation

It is said that with 20 minutes of mediation each day individuals show improved levels of the various hormones and neurotransmitters mentioned above. Not only were they improved, but the results lasted long after mediation had ended. By meditating 20 minutes a day you will experience better focus, less stress and anxiety, become more compassionate and creative, have improved memory, and increase in both white and gray matter. Those who meditate on a regular basis are found to be calmer, happier, and healthier. YouTube has a variety of guided mediations along with peaceful music to mediate with. If there is a specific aspect in your life you want to focus on you can find that there as well.
